BALTIMORE — Give the Mariners’ fill-in infielders the save in this one.

The Mariners’ late-game relief woes resurfaced in another excruciating ninth inning Tuesday night, forcing the Mariners to turn to rookie right-hander Nick Davila in the 10th inning just a few hours after he was recalled from Triple-A Tacoma.

Officially, Davila picked up his first major-league save when he escaped a major jam in the 10th inning to close out the Mariners’ wild 6-5 victory over the Orioles at Camden Yards.

But the Mariners couldn’t have survived without the game-saving glovework of second baseman Ryan Bliss and third baseman Patrick Wisdom in the ninth and 10th innings.

The Orioles rallied for two runs to tie the score off Jose A. Ferrer in the bottom of the ninth inning, but Ferrer escaped a bases-loaded jam when Bliss made a nice stop on a 110-mph ground ball up the middle and just beat Gunnar Henderson to second base for the final out.

Randy Arozarena answered right back in the top of 10th with a leadoff home run to drive in Julio Rodríguez, the automatic runner, and give the Mariners a 6-4 lead.

The Orioles got within 6-5 right away in the bottom of the 10th on a Leody Taveras RBI single, sending Blaze Alexander to third base with no outs.

Wisdom threw out the speedy Alexander on a throw home, with catcher Mitch Garver applying the tag just before Alexander touched the plate on a head-first dive.

Garver’s three-run homer gave the Mariners a 3-1 lead in the fourth inning, supporting another strong road start from Logan Gilbert.
