NEW YORK — Cody Bellinger won’t be back in the New York Yankees’ injury-riddled lineup anytime soon.

An MRI on his tight left hamstring revealed a Grade 2 strain, Aaron Boone said, via the YES Network, before the Yankees’ series-opener in Chicago against the White Sox on Monday. Bellinger is expected to miss 4-6 weeks.

The left fielder hurt his hamstring while legging out an eighth-inning double in Saturday’s win over the Phillies and had to exit early. While Bellinger didn’t believe the injury was “anything too serious” after the game, he went on the 10-day injured list on Sunday.

Bellinger, who was able to do some light agility work in Philadelphia on Sunday before heading back to New York for testing, isn’t the only high-paid hitter missing from the Yankees’ lineup. Giancarlo Stanton (multiple calf strains) has been out since April 24, while Aaron Judge (fractured rib) last played on May 31.

On Sunday in Philadelphia, Stanton declined to speak with reporters. Judge, meanwhile, had nothing new to share on his health or workout capabilities. It’s unclear when either slugger will rejoin the Yankees, who have one of baseball’s worst offenses since losing Judge.

Those struggles and the absences put the Yankees in the market for an outfield bat prior to the rapidly-approaching Aug. 3 trade deadline. Bellinger’s injury only emphasizes that need with the Yankees also looking for a right-handed hitting catcher and high-leverage relief help.

In the meantime, the Yankees recalled Spencer Jones to take Bellinger’s roster spot on Sunday. The left-handed hitter started in center and hit eighth on Monday, though Boone said he plans on using the rookie in left as well.

Max Schuemann will also get opportunities in left, especially when the Yankees face a lefty. He got the nod there and led off on Monday with southpaw Noah Schultz starting for the White Sox.
